Summary of the text

Professor Henry Higgins is a phonetician who has serious problems with women and in a way he can be introduced as anti-feminist. He believes that every human being of any social status can achieve a high social status if he can speak well. Eliza Doolittle is a flower shop girl with a bad accent and expression, from the lowest part of town. Higgins makes a bet with his friend, Pickering, that he can turn Eliza into a lady based on her oratorical abilities. Eliza accepts Higgins' offer and begins to learn.
